Come enjoy a variety of teas, selection of English biscuits, classic English tea sandwiches with vegetarian and gluten free options available. Sweet course will include a chocolate fountain with a selection of fruits, sweets and salty items. It’s not a lunch, but is a classic tea with plenty of delightful food to taste.
There will also be a Decades Fashion Display (20s-90s) to enjoy. Wear your favorite Valentines Day outfit, from goofy to glam, and join our fun fashion show to win prizes.

Join us for LCAC’s 2026 Gala–“Nourishing Neighbors!” The gala, our organization’s largest fundraising event of the year, includes delicious hors-d’oeuvres and dinner, dessert, wine and beer, and dancing with a fun DJ spinning the tunes. Most importantly, the gala raises critical funds to help support LCAC programs and services throughout the year!
Along with delightful dinner along the Occoquan River, at the gala you can win tantalizing prizes in a raffle and silent and live auction. Vacation packages, art and sculpture, theatre and sports tickets, “special treat” restaurants and more to be won. Come enjoy a night out and make a difference, celebrating LCAC’s community impact. Cocktail Attire, Black Tie optional.
During our Thanksgiving Drive and Distribution on Sunday, November 23rd, our community came together in an extraordinary way. This year, we served 1,500 individuals from 429 families. This marks a 37% increase in families served compared to last year. We expanded our home deliveries this year, with volunteer drivers delivering food to 125 families.
LCAC provided a Thanksgiving food box to each family and distributed over $22,950 in Food Lion gift cards to participating families. These gift cards helped to offer flexibility to purchase fresh items or other essentials.
We received over $40,000 worth of food donations during the event, representing countless acts of kindness from individuals, partner organizations, and local businesses. These contributions help keep our pantry stocked with preferred items throughout the holiday season.
On Sunday, November 9th, we held our Annual Warm Coat Drive and Distribution event. We received over 2,000 coats in a wide variety of styles and sizes. We donated the excess coats to various local nonprofits and schools. Thank you to our dedicated donors, staff, and volunteers for making this event happen!

To help prepare for the school year, LCAC assembled over 400 backpacks filled with school supplies. These backpacks were provided to local students from over 200 families. Our extra school supplies will be donated to local schools. Thank you to all the donors who provided school supplies and all the volunteers who sorted and packed supplies for client distribution.
We were thrilled to welcome over 400 people to our 50th Anniversary Pantry Celebration on Sunday, May 18th! It was wonderful to see so many new and familiar faces from the Lorton community joining us for this occasion!
There were opportunities to volunteer in the pantry, a bouncy castle, community partners offering activities, and a dunk tank in which LCAC’s own Josh Henry was dunked over 80 times.
The heart of this special event was centered on honoring 50 years of LCAC’s contributions to the Lorton community and dedicating our food pantry to our founder Christine Herbstreith. Supervisor Dan Storck also presented a resolution in celebration of our Anniversary.
Our annual Gala was held Saturday, April 26th at Historic Woodlawn at 9000 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria VA. The gala raised funds that help support LCAC programs and services throughout the year and this year we also celebrated 50 years of LCAC!

Children of LCAC families made their wish lists and together we helped make their holiday gift wishes come true! We collected and distributed gifts for more than 300 families. We also collected Walmart and Target gift cards for over 150 senior clients. Gift recipients expressed great appreciation!

We served 1,117 clients from 314 households and distributed 574 Food Lion Gift Cards with a value of $14,350. We also received an additional 8,126 pounds of food that to stock our pantry throughout the holiday season and beyond.

Thanks to generous donations we collected and distributed more than 1,400 coats plus hats, gloves and other items to keep people warm, serving at least 600 people and more than 135 client families, a 50 percent increase from last year. We also distributed coats to other area groups that serve people in need.

This July, LCAC held the first Summer of Love! We LOVED having volunteers of all ages join us to volunteer or donate at our pantry.
