Finding reliable, low-cost transportation resources is vital for our clients, especially those who lack access to personal vehicles. Recently, we connected with DATA Mobility Partners, an organization that offers community transit education.
On May 19th, we hosted a hands-on trip to learn more about our local transit. The destination for this inaugural transit trek was Pohick Estates Park, where none of our participants had previously visited. The trip combined practical, real-world skills with a fun community outing and picnic, making the learning process feel like an adventure. A group of 7 clients spent 2 hours practicing how to ride the bus, navigate routes, and explore the community together. The trip was a huge success and everyone left feeling much more confident about using public transportation independently.
