On Sunday, November 9th, we held our Annual Warm Coat Drive and Distribution event. We received over 2,000 coats in a wide variety of styles and sizes. Adults and children alike were excitedly trying on and picking out new warm coats.
Our Executive Director, Rob Rutland-Brown, shared, “The event was incredibly successful. There was a tremendous outpouring of donated coats, which were all somehow sorted and organized in three hours by volunteers to create a store in the gym for those needing a coat. The customer turnout was much higher than in recent years due in part to the government shutdown, but thankfully, we had enough selection of coats for everyone who needed one.”
We donated the excess coats to various local nonprofits and schools. Thank you to our dedicated donors, staff, and volunteers for making this event happen!
