LCAC's FY 2012 (July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2012) - Beyond the Financials

Here are some highlights from Fiscal Year 2012:

Distributed food to 1,992 people (unduplicated numbers) - a 23% increase over the prior year.

• Received 343,122 pounds of donated food; valued at $569,582
• $20,725 in local area grocery/store gift cards donated throughout the year

Provided clothing to 230 individuals through Lorton's Attic, LCAC's thrift store.

• Lorton's Attic, LCAC's thrift store, accepted clothing, furniture and other goods valued at $143,540

Provided gifts, toys and food to 726 children and 35 seniors & disabled adults during Christmas (Dec. 2011) outreach.  A 45% increase over the previous year.

• The value of gifts, toys and new clothing donated for Christmas (Dec. 2011) outreach was $141,750
• New gloves, hats and scarves donations with a total value of $548

Empowered 101 households (representing 295) with improved English communication skills as a result of ESL classes.

Provided $49,409 in housing and utility assistance to help keep individuals and families in a safe place - home.

All this, and more, would not have been possible without the dedication of time, talent and resources by 545 volunteers donating 14,376 hours of their time!
